Children’s Gardens

Designing for and with children is fun and incredibly rewarding. Jayne draws on experience in the Play Sector and research on Forest Schools and active learning to understand how children play, interact and use materials. Clients include Dunblane Nursery, Doune Primary School, Red Kite Nursery and Plean Primary School. A professional background regulating play industry safety ensures an intelligent approach to risk assessment and safety standards.

The design process helped us to focus our thinking. Jayne shared plans with the children and we were also able to use the plans when looking for funding. The changes to the outdoor space have made an enormous difference: it is now truly a space for outdoor learning. The children are now fully engaged and active outdoors and are continually finding new things and games to explore. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work. We were delighted to return after the spring holiday to discover that our wonderful new garden had arrived, and been completed to such a high standard by Ivy Maud Design.
