The design maintains the garden’s open feeling, which the client values, with the structure of the original paths re-emphasised. Large informal shrub borders, a small orchard and scented plants around the house have brought birds and wildlife in, bringing the garden to life. The house is beginning to feel more rooted in its surroundings. Planting is now well under way………….we look forward to seeing this lovely garden develop and mature.
This large walled garden was proving too blank a canvas for its new owner, artist Maureen Jessett. She had seen gardens she admired, so our task was to translate these ideas into the new garden. The garden also presented some challenging conditions in terms of shade and drainage.
