Public Gardens

Historic Gardens

Ivy Maud Design has completed a number of significant design projects for National Trust for Scotland at Culross Palace, reflecting a particular interest in Medieval and Renaissance gardens .

Children’s Gardens

Designing for and with children is fun and incredibly rewarding. Jayne draws on experience in the Play Sector and research on Forest Schools and active learning to understand how children play, interact and use materials. Clients include Dunblane Nursery, Doune Primary School, Red Kite Nursery and Plean Primary School. A professional background regulating play industry safety ensures an intelligent approach to risk assessment and safety standards.

The design process helped us to focus our thinking. Jayne shared plans with the children and we were also able to use the plans when looking for funding. The changes to the outdoor space have made an enormous difference: it is now truly a space for outdoor learning. The children are now fully engaged and active outdoors and are continually finding new things and games to explore. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work. We would recommend Ivy Maud to other establishments and advocate the use of a design/plan from the outset. Mary Kinnaird, Nursery Manager, Dunblane Nursery.
We were delighted to return after the spring holiday to discover that our wonderful new garden had arrived, and been completed to such a high standard by Ivy Maud Design. Our new double sided climbing wall is proving very popular, and the children are enjoying exploring our new play spaces. Many thanks to Mrs Whitehead and her team. Jane MacManus, Head Teacher, Doune primary school.

Community and Hospital Gardens

Working on these projects often needs a willingness to work with volunteers, to do impossible things with budgets and to cheerfully throw yourself into every aspect of the project from building dry stone walls to making tea!! Its all worthwhile because these gardens bring real pleasure to so many people from the moment they are completed and for many years to come. Clients include Greener Callander, Erskine Hospital and Ashdene House Nursing Home. Recent projects have been carried out in association with West of Scotland Dry Stone Walling Association who bring great expertise and enthusiasm to every aspect of dry stone dyking.

The garden looks great….the school is delighted and it really improves the link between the nursery and school also. Many thanks for all your efforts – it has been a pleasure and we look forward to working with you on other projects. Geraldine Donaldson, Strategic Asset Management, Stirling Council
